Sermon Summaries

Surprise!! It's a "two-fer" day!! After about a 2 hr. break, I'm here doing today's Sermon Summary. Meanwhile, I was clearing some storage closet space in preparation for Mike's moving in soon. I figured since last week's message was so short, and my updates so long, that this one, although longer in the notes, will take less overall time, as there are no further updates in the last little while.

How do you feel about what others think of you?? Are you a "people pleaser", which, btw, is not healthy, or do you not particularly care?? As long as you're a decent person, it shouldn't matter what others think, even if it's negative for whatever reason. You know the truth. That's what matters most.

Tonight's message focuses on how we think God sees us. And that's even more important than how we see ourselves...

Just before 2 p.m. on a cloudy, "rain-ish" Sunday afternoon. Lots of news today!! First of all, Mike had his latest surgery consultation on Friday, closing out a 10 day visit with me. When considering the latest scans in combination with the fact that Mike has had a problem with one ear leaking for the past few months, they are talking about being sure of the right approach, because this could mean that brain fluid is leaking out. That would mean that treating the Chiari pressure would only result in making more room for leakage. However, they are putting him on the schedule for surgery, pending a consultation with the Anesthesiologist. It's been a long road this year, especially for Mike, but we are FINALLY seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, so Praise God!! Just about 4:30 on this sunny Labor Day* afternoon. I know, it's late in the day for me to be starting on this, but I just finished watching the sermon online about 10 minutes ago. I did a few things to stand up for a bit, and here I am. I didn't end up going to church yesterday because I just wasn't in a good frame of mind to be around people at that time. Anyway, I'm doing this now because Mike is going to be here for about a week, starting tomorrow!! 😍🥰 My oldest, Carissa has agreed to drive me there to pick him up since she doesn't have to work until later in the day. I'm not sure what the plan will be after this. I haven't stayed over at his place in quite a while. But that's a week away yet...

Shortly before 3 p.m. on this rain-ish Tuesday. Lord knows we've needed it!! On the "homefront", the combined parties for my father and aunt, as well as a few other family members last week and this week*, went really well. Although there had only been 4 people confirmed on the FB event, there were 28 people and 1 dog present on Saturday. Among these, my parents, Carissa, and I got a wonderful surprise... My youngest, Jasmine, was there with her boyfriend, Bryan!! 🥰🥰 As it turned out, my aunt Peggy, who was hosting the event, was the only one who knew ahead of time, as Jasmine had messaged her on Friday evening. Things being what they've been this Summer, although Mike was here for a week last month, I've actually seen Jasmine more separate times in the last 3 months than him.

Speaking of My Love, he MIGHT be here…
